Additional Organization Funding Opportunities:

Coca-Cola Fund

As part of Coca-Cola’s contract with Ohio State, some types of assistance are available to the campus community, primarily student organizations.

Coca-Cola can provide the following:

  • Donated beverages (Coca-Cola products, including Dasani bottled water and POWERaDE) at your events, generally limited to one per person in attendance. Ice and cups are not provided.
  • Advertising in the Lantern (usually limited to inclusion in the weekly 1/2 page ad).
  • A blank banner to post on campus or at your event (approximately 3 ft x 10 ft) for you to complete (just write on it with permanent marker).
  • Resources on event planning.
  • In some instances, major events or programs with particularly high positive impact are specially endorsed (e.g., Beat Michigan Week) and can receive assistance beyond that mentioned above.

To utilize these resources you must:

  • Obtain a Coca-Cola Donation Request Form. These forms are only available on-line at http://studentlife.osu.edu/resource_coke.asp
  • Submit the request, using the on-line form, at least two weeks before the event. Requests may be denied if not received two weeks prior to the event.
  • You will be notified via e-mail whether your request was approved or denied as soon as possible after you submit the request.
  • Once the request is approved, you will work with the campus Coca-Cola representative on the details of your event.

Some of the guidelines regarding donation requests:

  • Overall, 90% of product donations and advertising funds will go to students, with limited allocations to faculty, staff and alumni events.
  • Donations are generally for events rather than for meetings, with the possible exception of an organization’s first meeting of the year.
  • While an event might be approved to receive support, that support may be limited so that allocations overall do not exceed the budget.
  • If an event is approved but donated product is limited, additional beverages will be made available at a discount from the standard retail price.
  • Decisions may favor those with fewer other resource options.
  • Decisions may favor efforts in support of the university's stated priorities such as diversity and outreach.
  • The event must be sponsored by a student group or by a college or departmental office on behalf of students, staff, or faculty, or by an off-campus group producing an event on campus for the benefit of a university constituency.
  • The event must be on or near campus.
  • The donation request form must be filled out completely and submitted on-line at least two weeks prior to the event to allow approved support to be reliably provided.
  • The event must be open to the general student population or all of an intended population such as students, faculty, or staff in a particular area. The broader the impact and attendance, the more likely the event will be approved for assistance.
  • Product donation can be approved up to one serving per person attending the event. The attendance estimate must be reasonable.
  • Larger amounts of beverages will be delivered, while recipients may be asked to pick up smaller amounts at centralized locations.
