The Inter-Professional Council (IPC)...

...is a representative body of all 3000 professional students in the colleges of Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine. The 36 Senators and Justices are elected representatives, however all professional students are automatically members of IPC.

...is one of three students governments at OSU. Graduate students are represented by the Council on Graduate Students (CGS) while the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) represents undergraduate students.

...works within the University as the voice for professional students. Most policy-making at OSU is done in committees comprised of students, faculty, and administrators. Each year IPC appoints representatives to more than two dozen committees around campus, including the following University Senate committees: Academic Affairs, Athletic Council, Student Life, Ohio Union, Physical Environment, Libraries and Informational Technology, Fiscal, Government Affairs, Diversity, Enrollment and Student Progress, Recreational Sports, Rules, Research, Steering, and the University Senate itself. Other committees include Student Health Insurance, Judical Panel, OSU Wireless Network, and Prking Permit Review.

...awards funding for groups, and individuals through its Professional Development Fund and for events and other projects through its Discretionary Fund. Recipients have included groups bringing in professional speakers, individuals traveling to professional conferences, scholarship funds in memory of students, and social events that are open to all professional students such as the Public Interest Law Foundation's annual PILF Auction.

...has five Senators and one Justice from each professional school who are elected from within their representative school. Elections for IPC executive positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary are held every spring. Appointments for committees occur throughout the year, with the majority occuring during the fall.

...holds a General Body Meeting each month, open to all students. Due to the size of campus and the physical distance between the professional schools, the location changes each meeting, rotating between the schools and other appropriate facilites.

Please contact your professional school's representatives to find out more about IPC.
